For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you plans to give you hope and a future. -- Jeremiah 29:11

Praise Jesus!
We are back in Palawan!
It is hot, humid and Lolita says she misses the cold weather. I find that hard to understand, as she was always cold even in the summer.

Ministry Team

We had our Ministry Team Meeting approximately a week after our arrival. It was a great time of rejoicing, fellowship and testimonies of our great and mighty Lord Jesus! Everyone is very excited to continue doing our Lord’s work and to see what He has in store this year.
Our team member, Maricris, will be starting back to school this month. She will be entering her third year of high school. Due to a lack of finances her education was put on hold. Though now 20 years old, we are so thankful she wants to complete her high school education and we thank the Lord for her financial sponsor. With Maricris starting school we are now in the process of praying for the person our Lord desires to take her place on our ministry team.

Christmas Gifts

Praise Jesus! God Bless you all! The gifts were packed and shipped before leaving the U.S. and are praying they arrive here at Palawan before Christmas! As the gifts are presented we will have a wonderful opportunity to tell the children and their families about the gift of Love our Father has sent to us, His Son Jesus! For all the children and parents, we thank you so much, God Bless You! It will be a great time of joyful noise and praises to our Father for you! We could still use a little help with the shipping expense, so please pray and see if you are to help with that.

Refuge House

Praise Jesus! We have started construction on the first dormitory building and will be sending video e-mail updates as we progress. For those of you who are not receiving our e-mail ministry videos, or know someone who you think would like to see them, please send your e-mail address to h_bornagain@yahoo.com.

The first phase of this project, laying out the building, digging footer, steel for columns and footer is under way now. Bags of cement, rock, sand (for pouring the footer), and labor will be approximately $1,500. Please be in prayer for our Lord’s provisions as this construction continues.

As most of you know, the vision of the Refuge House given 14 years ago, has grown from a simple vision to an understanding that it is a place of Praise on the earth to our Lord Jesus. Not only a place for kids to come but a place for all our Father’s children from the oldest to the youngest: Kids ministry, youth ministry, adult ministry, youth camp, VBS for kids, praise & worship concerts, pastor seminars, and much more.

Praise Jesus, we will begin our first ministry at the refuge house on Dec. 10th! We are so excited. This ministry will be children's bible study with teaching, activities and playtime, as well as starting to learn how to use puppets and skits to share Jesus!
Everyone is so excited and we ask for your prayers on this Blessed time! We are unsure of the level of participation as we start this program but we do know that our Lord is Faithful!

As I write this tears of joy flow as I remember years before, here in the Philippines, our Lord had us start a kid’s time and that our yard was overflowing with kids coming to hear and be taught about Jesus and our Father's Love for them! Please be in prayer.

Feeding Program

Since returning to the Philippines, I have had meetings with all the school principals where we have discipleship feeding programs. The response was the same from each principal: “What a blessing the program was during your absence.” They all gave me such excellent reports of our ministry team . I can only praise and thank our Lord for growing and maturing them in such a wonderful way.
I am so grateful and thankful to our Lord Jesus for the maturity and integrity He has placed in our ministry team. My heart overflows with love for these young people who have such a heart for Jesus and a passion to do His will.

Personal Note

I want to thank all of you for your prayers for our ministry’s director, Bill Johnson. Right after our November newsletter was mailed he graduated and went home to our Lord. He fought the good fight of faith and stayed strong in the faith until he left. He finished the race our Lord had for him. We miss him as well as the heart and service he provided for I Am Born Again Ministries, but we rejoice he has gone home. Please continue prayer for his family as they go through this difficult time of separation.

Thank you for all your prayers and encouragement! My heart is overwhelmed with thankfulness to our precious Jesus for you. You are truly a blessing!

God Bless You, We love you,
Harrell & Lolita

November 2011

For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you plans to give you hope and a future. -- Jeremiah 29:11

Praise Jesus!!!
Boy O Boy, it seems like we just arrived and already are leaving to go back to the Philippines. Even though we are sad that we were not able to see many of you this trip, we are very excited to get back to Palawan and be about our Father's business. Much to do and we don’t want to delay.

New Members

This year we welcome two new members to our I Am Born Again Ministries Board of Directors. We are so pleased to have Cathy Helton and Elizabeth Phillips join our group of directors and look forward to the added contributions they will be making to our ministry efforts.
Cathy and her husband, Ricky, reside on their small farm in Newberry, Florida enjoying the open fresh air of rural living. In addition to her functions as a board member, Cathy will be coordinating the shipping of school supplies, Christmas gifts, and other items to the Philippines. Elizabeth is a Levy County girl residing in Bronson, Florida with interests too many for listing. As well as assisting our Board of Directors, she will be overseeing the media activities of the ministry including the ministry’s website, videos and other endeavors yet to be launched. We encourage you to visit our website often <www.iambornagainministries.com> for updates of ministry activities. It now has a new look. Let us know what you think.

As well we thank our Lord for Sue Bazin stepping forward to assume responsibility for the monthly editing and mailing of our newsletter. What a joy to see our Lord expanding His work and allowing I Am Born Again Ministries to be a small part of that work!

Tribal Mission

Praise Jesus, our team members in the tribes have informed Mark that there are many more individuals ready to make a public confession of Jesus through water baptism. We were so thankful to obtain some very nice baptismal certificates while visiting here in the US this year. We will now be able to give these to our new Brothers and Sisters in Christ. PRAISE JESUS, all of us have more fruit of the harvest to our account. Please continue to pray for even more souls to be saved and redeemed.

Christmas Gifts

We are finishing the packing of Christmas gifts for the children of Palawan now and by the time you receive this newsletter they will have been shipped. It will cost a little over $2,000 to ship everything. Please pray and help in any amount our Lord speaks to your heart. We are so thankful to all of you who gave gifts for the beautiful children in Palawan. I assure you there will be a JOYFUL NOISE and lots of thankfulness to our Father for each of you when the kids receive and open their gifts. Our Lord will provide an abundance of opportunities to share Jesus during the gift giving time and the days that follow.

In the coming months our Board Member, Cathy Helton, will be contacting many of you, thanking you personally and will begin coordinating our ministry activities for the distribution of school supplies. As with all segments of our Lord’s ministry, it takes all of us working together to bring the work of our Lord to its fullness in the Philippines. You are not too young or too old to be a part of I Am Born Again Ministries heavenly work.

Refuge House and School Feeding –Teaching Ministry

We are excited to get back to Palawan and add the final touches to our Refuge House then begin construction for the girls and boys dormitories. We encourage you to be in prayer that our Lord will be bring in the provisions as needed for this six-month construction project. I can’t put into words the excitement and joy I experience as I now see our Lord’s vision of over a decade ago taking physical shape. So many opportunities to minister to the hurting, broken and lost lives here on Palawan. Besides our two ministry team members working with the mountain tribes we have five members who will be working with the Refuge House ministry activities and continuing our discipleship and feeding programs in the schools.

Mark and Teresa are doing a great job for Jesus overseeing the Palawan fieldwork while we are here in the US. Mark, Teresa, James, Maricris and Shoney will continue working hard to minister at the Refuge House, schools and Sombrero Island while Picol and Susan will be doing the same with the mountain tribes. Please be in prayer for the many souls in these pioneering places.

Again we are sad that we didn’t see many of you this year. With our precious Lord’s continual guidance in the growth and maturity of Mark and Teresa, as well as all of our ministry team, we feel confident that we will be able to come home for several months in the very near future to see your handsome and beautiful faces, your warm smiles, your very appreciated words of encouragement and your big bear hugs of Jesus’ Love.

Thank You and God Bless You,

Harrell and Lolita

October 2011

For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you plans to give you hope and a future. — Jeremiah 29:11

Praise Jesus!

Lolita and I are in the USA Hallelujah! Our time is very short here and we are extremely busy taking care of ministry needs. We know we won’t be able to see very many of you this year but want you to know you are continually in our prayers and we love you. The Lord willing, next year we will be able to spend more time here to visit all of you.

Refuge House

Just a few days before we left for the USA we had our first water baptism at the Refuge House property. Members of the Palawan tribe came to the Refuge House to make a public confession of their faith in our Lord Jesus. It lasted several hours with singing, praises to the Lord, thanksgivings, teachings, and encouragements before the water baptism.

After the baptism in the Sulu Sea at the Refuge, we had much rejoicing, praising Jesus and just beautiful smiles. We then gave certificates and a new Bible to our new brothers and sisters. This was followed by our first meal to be served from our Refuge House kitchen.

My heart was so overwhelmed many times that day as I saw the start of the vision our Lord gave me almost 14 years ago. When the Jeepney arrived overflowing with the people to be baptized (to the point that some were riding on the roof) tears flowed from my eyes as our Father was bringing them from the north, south, east and west to this place He told us to build.

When the singing, teaching, and encouraging were taking place, again tears flowed as I remembered His instructions that this Refuge was to be a place where Jesus would be shared. When we baptized the first person, tears flowed again as I remembered Him telling me that when we lift His name up, He would draw them to Himself.

Again when the first plate of food was handed out of our kitchen to a 13 year old girl, I could hardly see to take pictures as tears flowed remembering our Lord saying, “Don’t just say what I say, but do what I say do.”

Then as the Jeepney left, so full of people even sitting on the roof, tears flowed as I remembered when we started clearing the land almost two years ago, I was just looking up thanking our Father for the place He had given us. At that moment a dove appeared and flew over me. I was overwhelmed by our Lord Jesus’ presence as He spoke to me, “I will make this place a praise in the earth to me.”

I perceived in my spirit that it had already started being a praise in the earth to our precious loving, compassionate, merciful, faithful Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

When we return in November, Lord willing, we will be able to start building the girls and boys dormitories. We estimate the building price for the two buildings to be $15,000 to $20,000 each. Please join us in prayer for the provisions in building these dormitories.

Christmas Gift

These will be a tremendous blessing to the children as many have never received a gift before. We need to have all gifts shipped before Nov. 2nd. Please call me at 352-575-3618 to help.

We also desire sponsors for shipping the Christmas gifts and school supplies. Our cost this year will be between $1,500 and $2,000. Any amount our Lord impresses upon your heart will be a great Blessing.

Ministry

Praise Jesus, our ministry this year is still ongoing while we are here in the US. Our ministry teams are mature enough to continue while we are away. Mark and Teresa are in charge of the overall ministry and the ministry teams. They are doing a great job for our Lord Jesus.

Brother Picol and Sister Susan are working in the mountain tribes while James (An An) and Mary Christ (Bun Bun) are doing the teaching and feeding programs in the schools under the direction of Mark.

We are seeing great growth in all areas of the ministry. The teaching and feeding programs in the schools continues to disciple kids in the way of our Lord Jesus. We are seeing a Harvest of Fruit and many treasures being stored in Heaven for all of us. Praise Jesus!!

Following the water baptism at the Refuge House, just before we left Palawan, we now have a tribal church with 75 water baptized members and have received word that there are more to be added when we return.

Sombrero Island has just started being discipled and we are excited about what our Lord Jesus will do there.

Praise Jesus, it’s such a blessing to see the growth and maturity of our Ministry Team. I praise our Father through His Son, Jesus, for all of them. Just as I do for each one of you, our state side ministry team.

Without all of us working together as one under Jesus, none of this would be possible. I Praise Jesus for each one of you!!!

Be Blessed and Highly Favored!
We Love You,
Harrell and Lolita

September 2011

August 2011

Praise Jesus!
Our missionary visitor, Steve Allen from Florida, is having a great time during his two month stay with us: Preaching in churches, sharing at our teaching and feeding programs in schools. He also went with Mark to distribute bibles to the Batak tribe. We have allowed Mark to help Steve while he is here and as always Mark is doing an excellent job.

Refuge House

We are progressing with the construction of our Refuge house though at a slower pace. The windows are installed! Praise Jesus! We also have the doors but have not installed them as yet. It is looking more and more like a building for ministry and we are looking forward with great anticipation when it will be used for our Lords ministry here in Palawan.

Praise Report

Our Father is a God of Restoration. We reported last month about In In and her son Adrean. Praise Jesus, we will no longer need a sponsor for Adrean. The parents of In In have contacted her and our Heavenly Father has restored and healed the relationship! Praise Jesus! She and Adrean will be returning to her family September 2nd.

Teaching and Feeding

We have added two more elementary schools to our weekly teaching and feeding ministry. As Mark has been busy helping our visitor, Teresa, Rachael and Lolita are doing a wonderful job at the schools teaching about Jesus and providing nutritious meals for the children.

Christmas Gifts

Please help! Small gifts are such a blessing to kids who in many situations have never received a gift.
We encourage you to ask your pastor for the opportunity to place a collection box at your church for receiving small Christmas gifts for the children of Palawan.
Upon our return to the States this fall we will gather the collected gifts and ship them here to Palawan. If you have any questions please contact me by e-mail at (h_bornagain@yahoo.com). Thank You!

Return to U.S.

Lolita and I will return to U.S. September 20th for a short time leaving for our return trip to Palawan in November.
We would love to share with your fellowship of believers about the ministry here and give everyone the opportunity to be partakers of the Harvest, Fruit and Treasures our Lord Jesus is giving us here in Palawan Philippines.
Please let us know if there is a time available day or night that we can share at your church or fellowship group.

Prayer Request

Please pray for the provisions for Christmas gifts to the children of Palawan.

Please pray that we may have places to share our ministry while in the U.S.

Please pray for the person God desires to take over the mailing of our monthly newsletter to step forward. September will be the last month before we need to change.

Please pray for provisions for all of our various ministries

Our ministry team here in Palawan regularly prays for each one of you who are partners with us here in Palawan.
This month we ask all of you to pray for I Am Born Again Ministries Board of Directors and their families.
We especially desire your prayers this month. Several of our Board Members and their families are experiencing difficult journeys at this time. Thank you and God Bless You!

Personal Note

Lolita and I are very excited to be coming to U.S. to visit and see all of you. Sadly our time will be short and we may not be able to see everyone this year. We want you to know that we love you! From the depths of our hearts we love you!

GOD BLESS,

July 2011

Praise Jesus!

What a blessed month it has been. Our Lord has done Great and Mighty things!

We are expecting much more this month as we will have Brother Stephen Allen of Latter Rain Outreach International visiting with us for two months. We are excited about what our Lord will do with Brother Stephen while he is here and we will keep you posted.

Feeding Programs

With the new school year started our feeding ministry in the public schools is up and running. Everyone is so thankful for the Lord's provision for feeding the children a nutritious lunch meal. God Bless all of you!

Christmas Gifts

Everyone please ask your pastors for the opportunity to place a collection box at your church for children s Christmas gifts. We will be in the U.S. The months of Sept. and Oct and will collect the gifts and ship them before we return to Palawan. These gifts of love are received with so much thankfulness to our Father for your compassion to give to the kids, many of which have never had a gift before. Please help us as we have four months still remaining for shipping Christmas Gifts.

Refuge House

Praise Jesus the walls are up and hopefully by the time you receive this newsletter we will be finished with plastering and ready to put windows and doors in place. Praise Jesus!

As most of you know when our Lord revealed this vision to me 14 years ago it was going to be a place of refuge for children. When we started preparing to build, our Father expanded the vision. This place would be a place of refuge to all His children, from oldest to youngest: a place of praise and prayer, discipleship, worship, feeding (spiritual & physical) and a place for people beaten and left on the side of the road to be brought in for healing (much like the parable of the Good Samaritan).

Even though the buildings are not yet finished our Father has sent us the 1st, of, we trust, many to come: Those that the enemy of our soul has beaten and left on the side of the road. Our first is a young lady named In In, 26 years of age with a precious little boy to be 3 this month. A short look backwards upon In In's life. She was introduced to a young man, but unfortunately after a year she fell into sin with this young man and became pregnant. They decided to live together and after a month of living together she learned he was Muslim.

In In's mother had gone to the father of the young man to encourage the marriage of the two because her daughter was pregnant. The father of the young man refused because In In was a Christian and unless she would move to their place and convert to Islam he would not allow the marriage. Even though trapped in sin she refused to renounce Jesus as Lord and Savior. The young man stayed with In In thinking that she would change her mind.

Following the birth of her baby, In In had many bills and the parents of the young man refused to help. When the baby was 4 months old the young man left her and later married a Muslin girl.

During the following year and a half the child had many hospital visits with various illnesses, adding to the mounting bills. The young man and his family still refused help.

Finally, as too often happens, the mom of In In told her to turn to prostitution to obtain the money for doctors and medicine: a devastating blow to In In.

In In again refused the counsel of her mom and started crying to her Heavenly Father for help. The Lord found her a job in a bakery and provided her with strength to work the long hours with little pay.

As we look forward upon In In's life, a month ago the Lord directed her to us. Since arriving she has been ministered to, she has repented, confessed and even now is receiving the healing of all these terrible hurts and pains of the past three years. In In is also being trained and equiped to teach kids and also to be a testimony to other women of Jesus great love!

Please be in prayer with us for sponsorship of approximately $40 per month for, Adrean, her child.

Praise Reports

We Praise Jesus for everyone of you.

The outreach boat has been built and is ready for use in ministry.

The two month old baby 's financial needs have been met Praise God.

The school teaching and feeding programs are doing great.

The building is coming along fine and most of all Jesus Loves You! And so do we!

Prayer Request

God Bless each and everyone of you, we love you.

June 2011

Praise Jesus!

What a blessed month we have had. Our annual distribution of school supplies to the children here on Palawan is such a joy. One day we were going house to house distributing supplies in a pouring rain

We were having such a wonderful time meeting this critical need of so many families we didn't even notice we were soaked to the bone.

The level of poverty here on Palawan is difficult to comprehend for us in the United States: that a child's' education would be limited due to a families inability to purchase school supplies. But in many cases that is what we find.

Another great day was at the Refuge House as parents and children came to receive their supplies. A wonderful time of ministry to the old and young alike as we go about ”saying what Jesus said and doing what Jesus said do”.

Thank You! Thank You!

Refuge House

Our labors at the Refuge House is progressing though slowly. We currently have one laborer assisting our ministry team with the work taking place.

By the time you receive this newsletter we should be finished making the concrete blocks and ready to erect the second floor walls. Much of the electrical wiring is in place.

As the South West Monsoons (rainy season) seem to have started we will be applying a concrete sealant to the roof. Much of our work from here forward will be under roof and should, can continue through the rainy season without interruption.

Our materials and labor for the blocks and electrical will be around $700.00. Join with us in prayer that our loving father will provide the financial resources to finish this work quickly.

Teaching & Feeding Programs

With the new school year starting this month we will be adding the school teaching & feeding ministry to our on going outreach village ministry of Teaching & Feeding the children.

As we launch this ministry for the new school year we encourage your prayers that our Lord will supply the resources not only to continue with the schools we ministered to last year but that we may reach out to new schools and communities.

With our Teaching and Feeding ministry being welcome in all the schools of Palawan our Lord has opened for us a big challenge.

Outreach

It is so exciting to watch as our Lord opens doors to new areas of ministry for I AM BORN AGAIN MINISTRIES.

From our Refuge House we can look out on the sea and see in the distance a small island. We have been of the opinion for some time this island was uninhabited but have just learned there are a few hundred families living on the island with a school of perhaps 150 children.

It is also our understanding that at the present time there are no churches on the island.

We are making preliminary preparations for ministry to this island (don't even know if it has a name) through prayer and contact with mainland officials.

I am looking forward to my first visit to the island to gain better insight for ministry. Please be in agreement and pray with us that God will provide $1,000 for the purchase of a boat to be used in this evangelist endeavor.

This boat will be used not only for evangelism to this island and perhaps others as well, but used in combination as a livelihood project for a poor fishing family.

Thank You Jesus for this window of opportunity!

Praise Report

We praise Jesus and Thank God for all of you as provisions for school supplies were met, building expenses were met, Rose's(teenage girl with no father mentioned in last month's newsletter) tuition, shoes and supplies were met. Provision for bibles and their distribution was met.

We Praise Jesus, He is faithful and we delight our selves in Him, knowing that all of us are reaping a Harvest and storing treasures in heaven!

Thank You Jesus for the opportunity to be a Blessing.

Prayer Request

Pray for souls to be saved here on Palawan.

Continue to pray for God's guidance in providing conviction upon the heart of the individual He desires to assist our ministry by mailing our monthly newsletter.

Please pray for helpers in the U.S. To coordinate the shipment for our

annual Christmas Gifts Ministry. We will need to ship before the end of

Oct. preferably the 1st of Oct.
Please assist in prayer as we desire the one our Father wants to be in ministry at our Refuge House

Pray for provisions for all of our areas of ministry.

Again Lolita, myself, Mark , Teresa and all the children Thank You from the depth of our hearts for the great love and compassion expressed by you.

God Bless We Love You

May 2011

Praise Jesus!

I hope you all have been enjoying the videos of Brother Doug's visit last month. We have so many it's impossible to send them all.

This month we have been working hard on the Refuge House and by the time this newsletter arrives we will have the roof of the 2nd floor poured. We will leave the forms and bracing in place for a few weeks, allowing the concrete to cure and should then be ready to work on the exterior walls for the 1st floor kitchen and the 2nd floor apartment. The stairs to the 2nd floor and upper room roof area will be in the mix as well.

Please be in prayer with us as we continue this building project as a Refuge for our Father's children, a place of praise and worship, discipleship, spiritual and physical feeding: That it may be a place that is a praise on the earth to our Wonderful Living Savior!

He's Alive!! Alive for evermore! King of Kings! Lord of Lord! Glory to the Father!

School Supplies

Praise Jesus we will distributing school supplies at the end of this month or the 1st week in June when the school year begins.

Due to extreem financial burdens on families, many of the children would be held out of school if school supplies needed to be purchased by the families.

We Praise Jesus for all of you who have either sent supplies or gave money to purchase supplies here. This is the last month for this years school supplies. After this month support will be used for next years supplies.

From the Department of Education here in Palawan as well as the parents, teacher, all of us at I Am Born Again Ministries and especially the Kids we say a hearty “God Bless You”! Thank You! What a Blessing you all are! As always we Praise Jesus For You!

Outreaches

We will be doing follow up back to the tribes we visited last month: carrying Bibles and also Proclaimers (the talking Bible in their language which are equipped for electric, solar power, and hand crank charger) to the tribes.

There is no electricity in the mountains and these are excellent tools for those people who are unable to read.

Please be in prayer as we start in the Discipleship Ministry of these new Brothers and Sisters.

We have made contact with a few Pastors who are within a few kilometers of these tribes and will have a meeting with them by the time you get this letter.

Mission Trips

Mathew 9: 37-38 “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

I would ask everyone to pray about coming to Palawan Philippines on a mission trip. We want to start now scheduling Mission Trips for the year 2012.

Ministry Opportunity

As most of you know everyone in the U.S. who works in this ministry do so for the Lord Jesus and for the Harvest and Treasures given in Heaven.

This newsletter that you receive each month is a great part of this ministry. Our Dear Brother Bill Johnson has informed us that he will have to give up this year his part of having this newsletter printed and mailed to all of you.

Please pray with us for our Fathers guidance as we seek who He wants to take over this portion of the ministry.

In the event you believe this is something you may want to do please e-mail me and I will contact you and explain the details.

We also desire help with our Christmas Gift giving ministry. Again in the event this is something you believe you might like to do contact me for information.

We have a 15 year old girl, Rose Marie Manzano, who is in need for her 2nd year high school (8th grade) tuition of approx. $15.00 for the year and a pair of shoes, approx. $12.00. She already has her uniforms and we will give her school supplies. If anyone would like to receive the Blessing by helping her, please let me know. School starts 1st week of June.

Prayer Request

Pray for everyone in the Southern U.S. affected by Tornadoes

  1. Revival to stir in Palawan and souls will be saved
  2. Provisions for the ministry of I Am Born Again Ministries
  3. For helpers in the ministry both in the U.S. and here

April 2011

Praise Jesus!

What an awesome month in Jesus! Our Brother, Doug Doster, from Porterdale, Georgia was here and what a great time we had outreaching and sharing Jesus and feeding hungry children and adults.

Such love and compassion of Jesus flowing from him that every where we went people were drawn to him to hear about our precious Jesus! “No man can come to me, except the father which hath sent me draw him.” John 6:44.

We share with you this month Brother Doug's thoughts about his trip:

“I have recently returned from a visit with Harrell and Lolita Hemingway, along with those that are working with them. The title of a song "The Great Adventure" well describes my experience as I witnessed first-hand what God is doing on Palawan Island, Philippines. Let me also say that I have never experienced such hospitality as was shown to me.

After my arrival and great reception, our first day was to go to the tiny mountain village of Napsan. As we were on our way, we stopped at a tiny community on top of the mountain that had a small elementary school of only 40 kids. No one was there, and upon asking why no one was at school we found out that a man had been shot the night before. Everyone in the community was afraid since the killer had made threats to anyone who might tell on him. The dead man's body was on a table covered with a blanket under a small shed.

At the elementary school in Napsan (grades 1-6) we visited with the 90 students and 3 teachers, making up 3 classrooms. The school had no electricity and each teacher taught 2 grades. We were greeted warmly as we arrived at the school, and the teachers released the students into the care of Harrrell and staff.

Lolita took care of getting the cooking started. After Harrell taught the kids to shout "Hallelujah" and "Praise Jesus", Mark and Teresa took over (Lolita's sister and brother-in-law). Mark and Teresa taught the kids songs, and Teresa shared a Bible story with the kids.

Harrell came back and did a skit using some of the school kids. Harrell does such a great job relating to the children. After this, I had the priviledge of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with the kids along with several parents that had showed up by now. The presence of the Holy Spirit was on us, and many recieved Jesus Christ as Savior as we gave the invitation. God was so good to allow us to visit with these precious children. We packed up and headed back to the house.

Our schedule was similar each day, with the exception of visiting Indian tribes in the mountains on two days. The first tribe we visited was the Batak Tribe.

We hiked 7km to our destination with two carabao pulling sleds loaded with our cargo. Lolita and helpers had prepared small gift bags for each family. The other tribe we visited was the Palawan Tribe.

We visted three schools for the first time, and we visited the three schools that "I Am Born Again Ministries" is currently feeding on a regular basis.

I was amazed at the warm reception received at the schools. Many of the teachers are Christains and are anxious for someone to come in and teach the Bible and Jesus Christ. The children in the schools learn Bible verses and quote them from memory.

Keep in mind that most of these children have no Bible in their home. In fact, one head teacher asked for Bibles for each teacher to have to teach from. Mark and Teresa work with the kids in the school on "Feeding Day", which is twice a week.

Not only is "I Am Born Again Ministries" feeding at three schools, and one 7th grade, but also at 11 Methodist, Baptist, Assembly of God, and independent churches.

They are involved in the lives of almost 1200 kids each week; giving them not only food to eat, but also discipling them. Hopefuly this is being taken home to the parents and older brothers and sisters.

Opportunity is knocking to grow the ministry. The three new schools we visited are open to feeding and discipling.

Others are calling for a feeding ministry in their schools. The kids in the Philippines get no lunch at school and many come from very poor families, and don't have sufficent to eat at home; consequently, they are malnourished.

In I John 3:16-18 (NIV), we find the following instruction: 16. This is how we know what love is, Jesus Christ laid down His life for us, we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. 17. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him. 18. Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue, but with action and in truth.

While I was there with Harrell, I heard him ask God in prayer for $l million U.S. dollars to feed children in the Philippines. Probably no one person will be able to anwser this prayer, but let's join together as an army to be the answer to this prayer.

What a priviledge to be involved in Kingdom work with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

As we went from place to place and shared the gospel of Jesus Christ, almost everyone that heard the gospel responded, accepting Jesus Christ as Savior. This was the result of much prayer and preparation by Harrell, Lolita and the rest of the team. Harrell and Lolita are faithful workers in God's Harvest Field.

Pray for them, support them, go visit them. They are great host! “

March 2011

For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you plans to give you hope and a future. -- Jeremiah 29:11

Praise Jesus!

We now have transportation! And for those who are receiving our ministry's e-mail flip video update, it is not the water buffalo of my coffee commercial.

An e-mail from a dear sister asked if Lolita liked the water buffalo and my reply was, “I do not know, she hasn't spoken to me since.” Ha Ha But what we do have is a small multi-cab pickup.

We are still praying about our Toyota pickup for which we rebuilt the engine. It is sitting in the yard needing about $1700 to fix the transmission and other minor problems: Not sure if we should spend the additional money for repair or simply sell the truck. But Praise Jesus the engine is very good.

Palawan Visitors

Praise Jesus we have two brothers, one from Georgia and another form Florida, coming at separate times this month of March. It's an exciting and busy time for us with many ministry activities scheduled.

We have a number of outreaches into several mountain tribal areas. We have never been to these tribes and are not sure what to expect, but are confident our Lord will do mighty things. In addition we will be ministering in several schools for the first time.

We see this as a time of growing and learning for our ministry team here on Palawan as we prepare for these men coming. What a special time of service our Lord is providing as we prepare for out U.S. visitors. I can't wait to share with you in next months newsletter what a great month March has been.

Refuge House Construction Resumed

We have resumed construction of our main building for the mission property's Refuge House. Second floor concrete columns are now being poured and by April hope to be adding roof. We will keep you updated with videos as we progress.

Feeding Program

We are now feeding 1600 meals each week. Teachers are sharing with me that the children's weight is coming up, their attendance is better, and they are actually doing better in their learning because of your continued support of our feeding ministry. I Praise Jesus for all of you!

School Supplies

If you are shipping school supplies to be distributed for our coming school year beginning the end of May you must ship your boxes before the end of April.

Each grade level has special notebooks which we will buy here. If you are not shipping supplies you can designate a love gift for school supplies to help us buy what we need to get here. Thank you and God Bless You!

Mission Trips

The harvest is plentiful but the labors are few.

I would ask everyone to pray about coming to the Philippians on a mission trip!

We would be delighted to schedule your time here for focus on those areas of ministry that our Lord is drawing you to: Evangelism, Vacation Bible School, House of Refuge construction or our General Ministry activities. There is so much our Lord desires to do in Palawan with his laborers.

Some may want to come for one or two weeks. Others may want to come and volunteer for a month or longer. Please contact me at h_bornagain @yahoo.com

February 2011

For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you plans to give you hope and a future. -- Jeremiah 29:11

Praise Jesus!

Lolita is here!! Thank You Jesus! What a trip she had : Plane delayed in Charlotte because of snow, resulting in missing her overseas flight from New York. After 24 hours at JFK airport she managed to fly out just before a new northeast blizzard. She was exhausted but Praise Jesus she made it.

Christmas Gifts

Wow! Praise Jesus! Many kids who never had a gift, received one this year! What a blessing to be able to share about Jesus while giving the gifts you gave out of the Love and Compassion of Jesus in You!

Because it was after Christmas before we were able to distribute the gifts, the Lord allowed us to explain that giving is not just a one time a year activity, but the very nature of our Father is compassionate, loving, caring, giving all year long and that taking upon us the ways of Jesus and his Spirit makes us the same!

For those of you who are on our e-mail list, I hope you were able to see and enjoy the kids receiving their gifts! If you are not on our list please e-mail us at h_bornagain@yahoo.com with your request.

Seeing the children this month when they opened their presents was beyond descriptive words: lots of them with eyes full of astonishment, never having received a gift before. Some holding their present, not knowing what to do until someone explained to them to tear the paper off.

Tears of joy flowed from my eyes as I thought of you! As I thought of how much of the fruit of Holy Spirit is in you expressing the love of Christ in giving for these children.

Feeding Program

Praise the Lord for You! Because of the love and compassion of Jesus, through you we are currently feeding over 1200 meals to some very hungry kids each week.

In addition to other feeding outreaches, we are expecting to add some more this month. How blessed we are to not only be ministering to the physical needs of so many of these children but with every feeding our ministry team is sharing the wonderful love of Jesus.

Praise Jesus we were blessed with one of the large cooking pots last month, but still need several more. Each full pot provides enough to feed approximately 150 children. The pots cost $120 each.

Truck Repair

I have never experienced so many troubles trying to get transportation for use in preaching the gospel, feeding the children and other ministry needs and that is saying a lot because we have been in places where transportation was on the back of a water buffalo or just plain walking.

Please all intercessors pray for me to receive wisdom on the proper way to handle the struggle with our ministry truck . The only thoughts that come to mind as I think about our truck being repaired is :

2 Timothy 4: 14-15 “Alexander the metalworker did me a great deal of harm. The Lord will repay him for what he has done. You too should be on your guard against him, because he strongly opposed our message.” And pray for a brother who listened to the lie of a mechanics.

Brothers and Sisters I want everyone to say “Praise Jesus”!! Even with all the transportation troubles we have seen our Precious Jesus moves in mighty ways!!!

Ministry Team

Mark and Teresa have done a great job for our Lord; teaching the children at the schools. These have been precious times in praying, singing praises, learning Bible verses, and teaching the ways of Jesus to the children.

So many have confessed Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and believed in their heart! Though they may not fully understand the words of Romans 10: 9 they will grow into that understanding.

Romans 10: 9 “That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart, that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

As an outreach and extension of the love and compassion of our Lord Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, so much has been done and so many lives have been touched with His Good News.

We see your giving not as an effort of self recognition and glory but as a simple expression of the very nature of our Heavenly Father.

Everyday we witness treasures being stored in heaven on your behalf.

Through the giving of presents, feeding children, providing computers, microscopes, and school supplies, not only children, but parents and even teachers have been touched in mighty ways by our Lord Jesus!

Many people are saying to me “ Thank You pastor Harrell!” My reply is “Your Welcome, but its not me, I am just an instrument to get it to you, Thank the Lord Jesus Christ! And Praise Our Father for the brothers and sisters in the USA who our Lord Jesus has touched to give!”

Along with hundreds of children and parents, we Praise our Father in heaven for you! We thank Him for all the Love of Jesus in you! Thank You, thank You we know our Father will richly reward you!

January 2011

UPDATE ::: PRAISE JESUS,,,, LOLITA IS HERE ,, PRAISE JESUS!!!!!!

For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you plans to give you hope and a future. -- Jeremiah 29:11

Praise Jesus!

Hallelujah, Lolita is a U.S. Citizen, she has her passport in hand and should be here in Palawan by January 15th. And not a day to soon. THANK YOU JESUS. Boy I have missed her!!

Feeding Programs

We will be starting several new feeding programs this month in schools and churches and are excited as our Lord continues to open door for this outreach of our ministry.

With this expansion we will need several more of our large cooking pots that cooks enough for a 150 kids. Please join with us in prayer that our Lord will provide the $120 per pot needed.

Truck Repair

This has been a trial! Our mission truck is still in the mechanic shop as I write this, but hopefully it will be repaired before you receive this newsletter. They took the motor apart, ordered parts, put it pack together, but it still was not fixed: Taken apart again with more parts ordered. As I am writing this I received word that the new parts have arrive. We continue to Praise Jesus in all things.

With the truck in the shop I have been riding a motorcycle and have gotten rained on almost everyday. My body has felt some of the effects of that so please keep me in prayer for good health.

Proclaimers

We have started distributing the Proclaimers that was mentioned in last months Newsletter. They are a great witnessing tool with the Bible in their native language. They are solar powered as well as hand cranked for electrical power.

Refuge House

Our foreman, who was overseeing the construction of our Refuge House last spring, is currently completing another job and we plan to resume work on our mission house again in a few months is not before.

Outreaches

We have had several meetings with area pastors this month planning and preparing for outreaches as soon as our truck is repaired. Our ministry team and the pastors are ready to go and filled with expectation of all that the Lord has prepared for us.

Personal Note

When Lolita arrives this month, it will be over two months since we were together. On Christmas day I was here alone at our house, no body but me and the Lord (so I wasn't really alone). But I started feeling sorry for my self, thinking of Christmas as a time of being together with love ones, family or friends.

As morning passed into noon I became lonelier and lonelier. Then I sensed the Lord saying, “Harrell many years ago I taught you to look outward from yourself and help someone else.”

I thought to myself, “Lord I know there are other people who are lonely but I don't know where they are or what I could do to help.”

Then He revealed to me the men in jail. Even though others are there, they are all lonely, away from their loved ones.

I got on my motorcycle and drove to the jail and visited with the men in jail. I gave some snacks and talked with them about Jesus.

As I headed back home I suddenly realized that there was a bounce in my steps, praises singing in my heart and a feeling of companionship and not loneliness.

Jesus said I will never leave you! This is the TRUTH and He meant it! We are never alone even though in this natural world we sometimes think so!

Prayer Request

We encourage you to keep the following in your prayers this coming month.

Our heart felt thanks for all of you for being in prayer for us. Thank You and God Bless You. Praise Jesus next newsletter Lolita and I will be together, Hallelujah Praise Jesus!!!!!

Love, Harrell and Lolita

PRAISE JESUS!
